Yes, partly true, it is hard to find some variants thrugh losses alone, as some were only a few conversions each but there are examples:
A-10 5287 in LWFLS (Luftwaffe Schulen) losses 11v23.06.41
Others are found via misc docīs, Lieferplans (e.g. A-8īs that were planned by a certain factory), or ecceptance totals. I have numerous refs to A-12īs and other designations not yet mentioned in popular books.
