Re: Hurricane V7014 - lost 5 June 1942

Using Geoff Sullivans Website
http://www.hut-six.co.uk/cgi-bin/search39-47.php

and the Scotlandspeople website
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

The following airman matches (other than age) as registered dead in the Cupar District of Fife during 1942
A 26 year old Edwin J Estcourt-Watkin age 26 is registered in Cupar during 1942.

Name: ESTCOURT-WATKINS, EDWIN JAMES
Initials: E J
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Pilot Officer (Pilot)
Regiment/Service: Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve
Age: 28
Date of Death: 05/06/1942
Service No: 119398
Additional information: Husband of Ethel Cecilia Estcourt-Watkins, of Lower Edmonton, Middlesex.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: Sec H Grave 33 M.
Cemetery: LEUCHARS CEMETERY

Flight Magazine archives list him as Killed on Active Service.

I've checked the other RAF / RAFVR men lsited for that date and I'm confident that the man above is correct, he could be RCAF, RAAF etc also.

I checked the RCAF, RAAF and RNZAF airmen also and I'm happy none of them were killed in Soctland that date.
