102 Sqdn, 7 February 1945

Hello,

What happened to the following airmen?
They died 7 February 1945 and served on 102 Squadron RAF:

Walter Bonnyman Scott, Sergeant (Air Gunner)
James Miller Lennon, Sergeant (Air Gunner)
John Gallagher Sergeant, (Flight Engineer)
Bernard Rees James, Flying Officer (Air Bomb.)
Wilfred Wood Russell, Flying Officer (Navigator)
Peter Derrick Hewitt, Flight Sergeant (W. OP/ Air Gunner)
Ronald William Smallwoods, Flying Officer (pilot)

They were initially buried on the property of the Annunciades Sisters at Heverlee, Belgium. The girl’s school run by the Annuciades served as a British General Hospital (No. 101 British General Hospital ). Today they are buried at Heverlee War Cemetery, Belgium.

Did their Halifax bomber crash in the vicinity of Leuven, (Louvain) Belgium??? What caused their death?

Thanks in advance,
Dirk
