Folks
This morning I came across this website:
http://membres.lycos.fr/asduciel/meister.htm
Sa onzième et dernière victoire « française » est obtenue le 23 mars à 0h15 lorsque les obus de son Bf 110 mettent hors d'état de nuire un Lancaster qui va s'abattre à 15 kilomètres au nord-ouest de St Omer.
Their eleventh and final "French" victory was on 23 March at 0:15 when the shells of his Bf 110 brought down a Lancaster 15 kilometers north-west of St Omer.
It confirms that Meister claims a Lancaster at 00:15 on 23rd March 44. It goes on to explain that they then flew on to Messerschmitt at Hildesheim to get the a/c serviced and for a decent meal and a good sleep. On returning to their base in Belgium they were intercepted by a P-47 of 358FG/367FS flown by Capt. E.H. Spietsma and forced Meister to crash land.
Thanks to Mark

who PM'd me with confirmation that Theo Boiten's 'Nachtjagd War Diaries Volume 1' (mine is on order) also support the 23rd March being correct.
So what does the 22nd March claim refer to?
regards
Robert
