LW aircraft Suffix's

Hi Guys, this may be a stupid question, but...

I understand the /R and the /U, but was looking at one of those sheets detailing what planes were on hand for the Gruppen, when I started seeing /W

none of my books have a /W as a model Suffix ?

in the listing it was for I and II./JG 77, and during this time, the Units would of been based in Italy

so the models were Bf 109 G-6/W

one of my friends was saying, maybe it stands for Winterized (but loc of unit and numbers do not really sound like it)

on a 2nd question, what is the R number for the Rockets ?

my friend is saying it was R2, so Bf 109 G-6/R2, but my books are saying the R2 was for the 50 MW injection system ?

(I do find a Bf 109 G-10/R7 as being underwing Rocket pak, but most earlier R7's is for the DF system ?)

any help or ideas would be glady taken (I understand the system and am confused most times by it
