Hi Stig,

I don't know the book by prien, but when I saw your thread title is thought this:

Verw = verwundet
Verl = verlust not verletzt

Where "Verlust" means "loss" (dead/KIA)

This sound more logic to me than using verwundet and verletzt next to each other, but maybe I'm wrong here.
