C-47A-DL 42-23518

Would anyone know where there might be a photograph of this aircraft in its Second World War USAAF markings?

Would anyone have any idea which outfits (North Africa and ETO) it was in during the Second World War? This information may be in either of the two editions of the AIR BRITAIN DC-3 histories.

(I have both of these, but the sad truth is I am so literally up to my eyeballs in a non-Gooney Bird writing project that I cannot physically access my copies. I know this sounds WAY lame, but alas is true).

It currently survives as a DC-3, N53ST.

Many thanks,
David Isby
