Re: Feldpostnummer 52156

Peter -

Yes, that would be unusual.

The first 6./ZG 76 existed from 05.39 - 11.41 and had FpNs 38989 and 35737. It then became 9./NJG 3. Nichts wahr?

From 11.41 to 08.43 there was no 6./ZG 76. Correct?

The FpN 52156 was then issued to or assigned to the second 6. Staffel between 1.5.1942 and 19.10.1942 and had formerly belonged to 3./NAGr. 6. This is strange because the second 6. Staffel was not formed until 28 August 1943 at Wertheim. Right? Since the number was never deleted (gestr.) or reassigned to another unit, the assumption is that it remained with 6. Staffel to the end of the war.

The question is my mind is why was FpN 52156 issued to the second 6./ZG 76 between 1.5.42 and 19.10.42, a full year before it was actually formed? That would be very, very unusual. My guess is that the formation of a second ZG 76 was fully planned in 1942 and Feldpost numbers issued, but things were delayed and did not actually occur until August 1943. But that's just a guess.

Otherwise, if this does not answer your question then I am not understanding what you are asking.
