In operation as early as January 1940 in Oberursel/10.8 km north-west of Frankfurt/M. (Stadtmitte). Practically a suburb.
Dulag Luft Oberursel typically was staffed by 25-30 English-fluent Luftwaffe officers for detailed interrogations and another 15 to 18 for preliminary interrogations. By February 1944, the great inflow of Allied air force prisoners caused such a jamming of the facilities that the POWs were only there for a day or two and were only given a preliminary interrogation before being moved on to a permanent camp. Dulag Luft Oberursel was guarded by Landesschützen-Kp.d.Lw. 14/XVII (Hello Sgt. Schultz!).
