Günther "Franzl" Lützow

Hello all. I was advised to post here by someone on another aviation forum so here goes!

A collegue of mine who collects military artifacts of various eras has recently aquired the Tunic of Günther "Franzl" Lützow, a WWII Luftwaffe ace.

http://www.luftwaffe.cz/lutzow.html

He plans to keep it for some time as an investment of sorts for his Children/Grandchildren. Obviously it holds some value, but he has no idea what figure to tell his house insurance providers.

The aforementioned Tunic is now in the possesion of my friend and I was over at his house this weekend, I remembered my camera so I took a couple of photos to share with you before it goes away into storage.

Firstly a photo of Major Lutzow, I gather the decoration worn around the top of his shirt neck is the KC Oak Leaves and Swords.

Next is the owners name inside one of the pockets

The Tunic, the items in the front pocket are the letters providing Provenance

Provenance is provided by this letter by Adrian Forman, who I believe has written several books on German Decorations, which have over the years become accepted as the International standard works on the subject.

I know this peice is worthy of a museum, as are most of the items is his ever growing collection!
