Ost (to 20.08.44). 01.09.44 Hptm., appt Kdr. II./JG 5 (to 10.44). 20.10.44 Hptm., appt Kdr. IV./JG 4 (to 03.12.44). 03.12.44 KIA – shot down by AA fire during a low-level close support mission in the Aachen area. Credited with c.12 air victories.
