41-28747 466th BG, 787th BS, "Gruesome Goose/ Desperate Virgin" a/c letter "B" Reported as ditched in English Channel Aug 12, 1944. Cause AA damage. 10 KIA. MACR 7911.
Two B24's from the Group were lost this date, both it seems ditched as one 41-29413 "Our Baby" a/c letter "F" is reported to have ditched 50 miles off Lowestoft and 7 crew rescued.
And a 44th BG a/c came down in France due to lack of fuel.
42-110024 "44th BG, 506th BS" Code Letters "QK" and a/c letter "P+" a/c name "Ole Cock" lost Aug 12, 1944. MACR 7896. 2Lt. Thomas J. McGuire. 2 Evaded, 3 KIA and 5 POW.
The 392nd BG 577th BS "Y+" lost 42-95023 when it returned and hit the ground in flight at Oxford Road Cheshut 2Lt. John, D.Ellis 10 KIA, after a mid air hit with B17G 42-107191 "K" "The Tomahawk Warrior" of the 398th BG 600th BS, that crashed at Lude Farm Loudwater, 10 KIA.
