Many thanks for that. I presume the 466BG aircraft crashed in the Channel somewhere near the SE coast and the remains of the crew were recovered by ASR or other vessels/craft.
The memorial to the crew of the 392BG B-24 which crashed at Cheshunt, Herts., after the MAC this date is now on display at the American Military Cemetery at Madingley.
