1. The files of MI5 are entirely outside my expertise (if indeed I have any).
2. As with so much else about the
Luftwaffe, we lack documentation of the reasoning behind many command decisions. For what it's worth though, I don't think there are many instances in the history of air warfare where a force switched from day to night bombing because the former was going so well.
