DBAG Data Plate

I recently obtained this plate from a source in Russia. It was reportedly found at the wartime location of the Luftwaffe airfield at Pitomnik near Stalingrad (now Volgograd).

I imagine D.B.A.G. refers to Daimler-Benz A.G., possibly linking the plate to the engine system, while 8/109 indicates a Bf 109 airframe relationship.

From plate numerics, is it possible to establish the specific part it identifies and/or the model Bf 109 it was used on? Also, were any JG units assigned to the airfields around Stalingrad during the battle, or were the fighters there simply as transient escorts for other aircraft?

Thank you,
Steve
