Heinz Lüdtke

5.7.1943 Bf 109G-4 W.Nr. 19307 schwarz 2 + | BH+XK 8./J.G. 3, Lüdtke Heinz, Uffz. POW after Notlandung due to engine damage. Pl.Qu. 6163 (N Shebekino) 100% F

Khazanov/Gorbatsch (p. 191) mention Lüdtke as being taken prisoner at St. Sumskaja (NW Belgorod) and shot while trying to escape. This would be exactly the area in which Lüdtke claimed one Il-2 at 0745 hrs that day - Pl.Q. 6117 (near Rakitnoe, NW Belgorod) - his only claim before his death.
But the loss report gives the place of Notlandung as Shebekino area which is SE Belgorod - also Khazanov/Gorbatsch (p. 117) say Lüdtke was s/d and taken prisoner in area Krutoj Log-Schebekino - so it is something wrong here.

Now, judging from German claims III./J.G. 3 flew most of their missions NW Belgorod, but there were indeed some claims near Shebekino in late afternoon.

Anyone has any evidence at what time of day Lüdtke was actually shot down?

Kind regards,
Pawel Burchard
