Do you mean the 388th Fighter Squadron which was a component of the 365th Fighter Group (P-47 Thunderbolts) and fought in France and Germany 1943-45, or the 388th Bombardment Group (B-17s) based at Knettishall, England, and belonged to the 8th AAF?

I have a support connection to the 388th Tac Fighter Wing (Republic F-105s), Korat RTAFB Thailand, 1967, but I don't suspect that's what you are after.
