Re: B-17E "Sea Breeze" - N. Africa 1942- what serial?

No serial (yet), but additional info received on "Sea Breeze". This B-17E with pilot Capt. Earle A. Goodrich made a belly landing at an undisclosed N. African desert place (but in Allied territory) when a/c transferred to its new base at Biskra, Algeria to join 301st BG.

B-17 on ground was observed as ‘smashed up’ by another ex-376th BG B-17E (“Judge’s Jury” with Capt. Rowan T. Thomas), also on its way to Biskra. Period around 11-13 January 1943.

All Sea Breeze crew safe, picked up by a camel caravan. They reportedly had a general and colonel as passengers.

Route of above B-17s most likely direct from Gura Air Depot, Eritrea to Biskra, Algeria.

No immediate match in Joe Baugher's lists (B-17E serials 41-2393/2669 and 41-9011/9245).
