Haven’t done one of these threads in a while (#11 was 7/06!). Since no Fw 190 plates were shown previously, let's resume with a truly classic aircraft.
This plate surfaced just recently. It had been “tucked away” since being removed from aircraft debris in a scrap yard in Limburg (Netherlands) in 1952. Yes, 1952!

Thanks to “tango35” (Thomas) and, in particular, Andrew Arthy, this much of the aircraft’s earlier history was revealed. W.Nr. 198 (or 0 147 198), a Fw 190A-4/U8, was built by Fieseler (Kassel - B) in 1942. It suffered 20 percent damage on 18 September 1943 at Tours airfield, France, while serving with the Erg.Staffel of Schnellkampfgeschwader 10.
What else can be said about this aircraft and its eventual journey to Limburg?
Best regards,
Steve
