The only problem with Gillards remembrance is that he doesn't say
when the photo was taken. Depending on date, 1941, both Acklington and Biggin Hill is correct.
I have been to Biggin myself (way back admittedly) but judging from the photo I wouldn't risk my life where it was taken...
Semantic I know, I know, but if I start splitting hairs, I suppose just me wishing we had more exact dates with our lovely oldtimers.
