On 2 june 1941 ten. Marinone and s.ten. Bizio of 23° Gruppo, operating from Pantelleria, claimed a Blenheim near Lampedusa
On 7 may 1941 SM.82 MM 60293 609-9 of 146° Gruppo T. commanded by s.ten. Aldo Pierani took off from Lecce to Castel Benito with 22 member of 239a Sq. Bombardamento a Tuffo. The aircraft was shot down and touched down on sea. 13 men out of 27 on board were rescued by a fishermen boat.
