".... The first half of July 1941 was exceptionally tense in Kamenshchikov’s combat life.
Shot down by Kamenshchikov on July 7, 1941, on the western border of the air defense zone,
the Me-109 fighter (he covered German bombers during a raid on one of the railway stations)
was the first MiG-3 victory from the 6th IAC Air Defense. On July 10th he knocks down another Me-109, ...."
"....At dawn on June 22, 1941, under the ruptures of enemy bombs, the adjutant of the aviation squadron
of the 126th Fighter Regiment, Lieutenant Vladimir Kamenshchikov, climbed I-16 into the air to engage in
battle with the enemies. Near the city of Bialystok, he noticed 3 Me-109s and boldly attacked them.
They did not shy away from the fight; covering each other, tried to take the Soviet fighter into ticks.
With a skillful maneuver, Kamenshchikov walked into the tail of an enemy machine and marked it with a machine-gun burst at close range.
Enveloped in a flame "Messer" stone went to the ground. ..."
