The police reports says:
At 03.50 h (local Dutch time) a Dutch police officer was informed about the forced landing of a German aircraft 500 meters East of Steenderen.
The police officer went to the crash site and he saw that the aircraft was partially destroyed and the three crewmembers who were firing flares were unhurt.
The police officer called it a German Fighter aircraft.
