Mystery solved! I've been building models of the 109s captured at Neubiberg for years. Most recently I completed "black 1", a G-10/U4. I have wanted to build the G-14 seen beside it in the most commonly published photo (see Messerschmitt Bf-109 G-10/U4, Production and Operational Service, p.49, bottom, published by JaPo).
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=250034097128 - looks to be a photo of this plane. The camo pattern and yellow nose of "black 1" match. Now I know the G-14 is "white 4" and have more insight into the camo. Note also that this bird is a jabo, a feature often missed on profiles of the plane.
Many Thanks, Ed! Your work is greatly appreciated.
