Alex, Been nearly 12 years, but here is a clue based on my SEAC Losses database

Operating Airfield - Jessore. Ac crashed on the "Calcutta Side of town (Jessore) about 8 miles out"
In google earth, 8 m SW of Jessore is the town
Jhikargacha .. draw the line further out - and it will be Calcutta. So probably a mistake in transcription.
