Since Felice was so kind and trustful to share with me most of the memories of his past, I guess that the best reply to the question posed is the second page of his ANR log-book ...
As a sidenote, I'm proud to have been able to make Felice meet with both the pilots who shot him down in WW2:
Here is him twenty years ago with Charles C. Eddy, who shot him down on April 2, 1945, during the big combat between the Bf 109s of 2° Gruppo Caccia ANR against the P-47s of the 350th FG USAAF...
The other one was S/L Murray Nash (3 Sqn, RAAF) who didn't exactly shoot him down, but forced him to a high-speed crash-landing among a field of vineyards on December 26, 1945. Nash flew from Australia to meet him.
Felice remained in contact with both pilots until recently.
I'll miss a great friend and a true gentleman.
