Probably the body of Clausen was found at some point and the report reached the NVM but not the GenQu list.

As for the Volksbund database being incomplete, I sadly agree. Since I started to use it years ago, I have seen one major change for Kriegsmarine casualties, the ones lost at sea and commemorated now appearing while they did not before. But AFAIK there is no equivalent memorial for missing Luftwaffe airmen, lost at sea or not. Except some Luftwaffe crew members that were actually members of Kriegsmarine (with such rank as Lt zur See in naval patrol units).
