USAF F-51D in Iceland
Hi all,
Looking for photos (scans) of the squadron of USAF F-51D Mustangsīs ferried from California to Keflavik in summer 1951. Major Erv Ethell flew one, from 192 FBS formed within CAL NG. I seem remember colour photo of this taken at Narsarsuaq. Also if this unit had insignia. Unit was redesignated 435 FBS some time afterwards. Also if some have photos of "I Pini" F-51D-25-NA 44-72843 FF-843 or "Nancy" F-51D-30-NA 44-74482 FF-482. Unit was flown to Prestwick and Renfrew, in spring 1953 and the planes put on cargo ship for shipment. All details are greatly appriciated.
