Re: I.D. for Wildcat flown by Digby Cosh, 881 Sqn, April 1944 against Tirpitz?

Hi all,

This thread came up while I was searching for reference material on 881 Sqn. and Canadian Wildcat pilots in general. There seems to be a wealth of knowledge here that is well beyond anything Google can turn up.

Is there a place where I can find a listing of squadron codes? A number have been mentioned previously in the thread, but there is some confusing info. For example JV375 is referred to as "5O" and later as "V".

I'd also be grateful if I can be pointed towards a resource that shows placement & colouring of the markings. Online, book, whatever. It's darned hard finding good, reliable images. The holy grail would be a photo with Cosh or some other Canuck in the cockpit, and the plane clearly identified...

Thanks to anyone that's able to shed some light!
