Frank Farr, 97, March 3, 1924 - August 16, 2020.
An author and educator with multi-language skills; during WWII Frank was stationed at Bassingbourn, England, arriving during July of 1944; and, on November 2, 1944, he was aboard “Winged Victory” (42-97563, OR-U) on an ill-fated mission over Merseburg, Germany. The ship was piloted by 1st Lt. Oscar J. Snow, and when the “Bail-out” order was issued, this began an ordeal for the twenty-year-old Frank, who fell through the cold-space, and digging at his parachute where a failed ripcord once had been.
He along with seven other crewmen, Frank would spend the duration of the conflict as a Prisoner-of-War. Frank was a man that always lent a helping hand, and he will be missed by all who were fortunate to come in contact with him. Prayers for Frank, his family, and friends during this time of sorrow.
