While the TT is indisputable I would venture an educated (oh well...
) guess and say the other aircraft is a JN-4B No 157. At this time all surviving JN-2 had been modified to JN-3 standard and was with No 1 Squadron (all having a star on their fins)
Another reason is, not that I am a Curtiss Jenny expert, but because I have Robert Casari's 'Bible' by my side.
At this time both the Martin and this particular Jenny was on a search for two missing fliers from bases in southern Calidornia (Dec 1916 -Jan 1917). Casari specifically mentions that TT No 50 was in on that search.
Easy, peacy when you have the 'Bible' right in front of you....
