Hello,
About 30 or so years ago this photo was published in the book: "Les Messerschmitt dans la Bataille D'Angleterre- Le Bf109E" P83 by Mister Kit & Michael W Payne.

This looks like a clear case of a dark/light gray camouflage scheme rather than the more traditional 71/02/65 color scheme. This photo probably dates to about August, 1940, and shows this a/c in the factory-delivered camouflage scheme.
For profiling purposes of other a/c in this production batch, I'm trying to determine if this printed photo represents the authentic colors on this a/c, or whether what appears here is due to color balance (or lack thereof) during the printing process. It even seems possible that this photo was colorized back during the war (or since). B & W versions of this photo have been published, which doesn't mean they weren't taken from an original color print.
Does anyone know the original source for this color photo, and whether the colors as printed are true or not?
