Sometimes it is worth Google Earthing an area because disturbed earth sometimes shows up in the soil or crops that are darker or lighter than the surrounding area.
I know that at Arnhem, it is still possible to see the burnt earth marks where a Dakota crashed each autumn when the field is ploughed. Just a thought, it might help!
