Hi,
i'm new to this and just aquired this ID plate from what I believe is from a bf-109.
The owner said it came from a 109 that was active in Stalingrad)

After much research and googling I found a parts list of a 109F and identified the tag as been sitting on the left "flügelübergang" (i believe this translates into wing-transition).

When searching on the first part of the werksnummer: 26412 I get zero hits.
Searching on the second part of the Werksnummer: 1083 i get the result that it was part of an FW-190.

Also I can't find any reference to the hersteller NKF.
I would like to find out:
- If this indeed is a bf-109F
- Where it was manufactured
- In which region it was active
- Which battles it participated in
- Which pilot(s) that flew it
- Where to find a photograph of the pilot
Some of these are probably not possible to find out, but I'm new to this and hope to hear from the experienced people here what is reasonable to find and what is better to not even dream about finding out.
I'd be very grateful if someone had info on these things or even more so if i were pointed to an open archive (if there is such a thing) where I can find this out for myself in the future.
All the best,
Jesper
