instrumental in preparing glider pilots to be able to land the CG-4A glider over obstacles, under or over live wires, slipping into a very small landing area fully loaded and stopping within 500 feet. He taught them to fly a brick and survive.
Volunteered for the glider program as a 1st Lieutenant, in grade, and graduated on April 6, 1943 from Victorville Army Air Field, Victorville California, class 43-4. His was than assigned as an instructor.
