Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

"IIRC" is accurate .. some 60 km off mark. Not serious.
Yes, this is +SX confirmed on colour photo I have from old auchion.

Ju 88 A-4/trop 300320 PI+SX of I/KG 76 - Found shot up Foggia Sattelite No.3 Airfield in Italy, autumn 1943

Germans called this area Tortorella in GQM losses (inaccurate).
Cerignola is SSE of Foggia, but No.3 was North of Foggia.
  • Salsola Airfield (Foggia Satellite #3)[14]
Abandoned, was located approximately 17km north of Foggia, 41°36′10.36″N 015°33′53.59″E (Approximate)Temporary airfield used by Fifteenth Air Force 1st Fighter Group, operating P-38 Lightnings. PSP runway with parking area. Built by COE in late 1943. Used by 1st FG until March 1945, closing in April 1945 and airfield dismantled. Today no evidence of existence visible on aerial photography, land completely returned to agricultural use. 1st Fighter Group, (P-38 Lightning), 8 January 1944-8 January 1945; 21 February–March 1945

But RAF source is not entierly realiable re these wrecks, best refer to Foggia area,
sister ship (300227 PI+SU) that went to the USA was repaired by 79 FG simply as "Foggia" (but some say Salsola)
but that group later moved to Madna.
