There’s a slim book called “Off to War with ‘054” (by John Kemp, Merlin Books, 1989) about No. 15054 AMES (cover name = Air Ministry Experimental Station) which followed the Allied armies across N Europe in 1944–45. One of its big engagements was when the Germans were trying to destroy the bridges at Eindhoven.
