Newaknie should read "Newa Knie", or bend of the Neva river, in plain English. There are two big bends in that river, one near Smolny within the city of St. Petersburg / Leningrad, and the other at Otradnoe, south-east of the city. Both locations are dozens of kilometres away from Gatchina / Krasnogvardeysk, but a reference to the "Krasnogvardeysk area" in the loss records is sufficiently vague to allow for the possibility that the incident could have occurred near Otradnoe.
