It shows the crash site of a 15th AF B-24 Liberator. The information n the back of the photo says: "Liberator by Marseille. Alfred's second.".
From the picture we can see the 55 BW (460th ,464th, 465th and 485th BGs) square. Unfortunately, the bottom half of the rudder which would denote the Group is not visible. The visible numbers are "2525" which would correspond to 42-525xx.
"By Marseille", would indicate a 15th AF mission against southern France and the first name of Alfred might help to identify this bird.
