As I said earlier - worms collects e-mail addresses from whole PC. Not only from address books of e-mail software (Outlook Express is
not safe e-mail software), cached webpages etc.

I don't think so. I'm almost 100% sure that it was worm. One of these worms which have sending ability and always fakes sender's e-mail address.
