Re: P-38 L-1 42-4384

Thanks, it's my pleasure. Here are some pics of the soviet 17th Air Army (3rd Ukrainian Front), 244 BAD, 260 BAP A-20G Bostons, lost at the Sombor airfield. Squadrons of 260 BAP used the very same tactical numbers, but in squadron specific colors. (Full stories, pics and details in my A-20 Boston book.) Enjoy!

A-20G-40-DO, lost on March 6, 1945, S/N: 43-21370, #4, pilot:
л-т Коломейчук Василий Гаврилович (OK) - take off accident.

A-20G-20-DO, lost on March 9, 1945, S/N: 42-86687, #5, pilot:
л-т Рой Михаил Прохорович (OK) - bomb explosion after take off accident at Sombor-SW, 2 km.

A-20G-25-DO, lost on March 14, 1945, S/N: 43-9274, #4, pilot:
л-т Павлов Николай Павлович (WIA) - crashlanding after engine failure and early return from Baja, Hungary at Sombor, 3 km.
