Re: German aviators captured in France before the Armistice of 22.06.1940

In 2006, I posted lists made from books on Bf 110 and Bf 109 losses in 1940. I found 43 Bf 109 pilots, and 12 Bf 110 pilots (and 7 Bf 110 gunners) released after the armistice of June 1940.

You will find it there: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=3850

Most of the Luftwaffe airmen captured in 1939-1940 by the French were from bomber and recon units, as:
1) Luftwaffe lost more bombers/recon aircraft than fighters during the campaign
2) these aircraft had more crew
3) they flew missions further away from the frontline, so survivors of shot down aircraft were more often captured and sent to POW camps.

But I have not made any list for these units.

I have seen two figures: 400 according to Churchill's Memoires, and 100 Luftwaffe officers according to an article by C Huan in 2007. Both can be true, as for example only 20 of the 43 Bf 109 pilots were officers, and the proportion in other aircraft will be lower.
