Recce patrol, left 9.30am. Very strong wind, AA and shell hit engine over Courtrai, high winds, forced to land.

2/Lt M R Chidson - POW
2/Lt D C W Sanders - POW.

Aircraft captured and flown by Germans.

No.16 Sqn's first loss in action.
