Re: P-51 photos

44-73809 was flown by Lt. T. W. Trimble ( 7FS / 49FG) with their "Bunyap" insignia. The tail markings are ex-3rd Air Commando Group , dark blue with yellow numbers ( previously letters or numbers) and squadron colour tips, light blue (3FS) or red (4FS) with yellow borders. Squadron colour nose trim.

Both units were at Chitose at the same time in 1946 but 3ACG was inactivated in March and their planes were collected there; the 49th may have taken them over.
Trimble had an accident in 809 at Misawa on Nov. 11 1948; when it was transferred to the 40FS / 35FG, Lt. W. K. Hocky had another on July 18 1949 at Niigata.
The other plane is an F-6D or K, possibly 71TRG (HQ) from Yokota; the Group was disbanded then re-activated.
