Any Meteor Experts Out There Please?

This piece of aircraft wreckage is currently in storage at the Tangmere museum awaiting identification. It was recovered from the crash site of two 43 Sqn Meteors (VT238 & VT276) that flew into high ground near Tangmere on 25 November 1949. So far it has eluded identification and does not appear to have any helpful numbers stamped into the casting. Hopefully there are some Meteor experts out there who will quickly figure it out for us.
