Re: Help ID'ing Australian Flying Officer aboard USS Intrepid

Hello,

The only RAAF member I can find that fits the bill, is:

265264 Alan Reeson TALBOT RAAF.

https://nominal-rolls.dva.gov.au/vet...=1065077&c=WW2

Unfortunately, his A9300 is not digitised. I know he was a member of the Administrative and Special Duties Branch, probably a professional of some description. His original service number was 5264, later prefixed with 26, to become 265264. He was 35 when he enlisted in Melbourne, Australia.

One name that keeps popping-up in my files, is: 43864 Sgt Jack Robert TALBOT RAAF. He was a recipient of a US Air Medal, for services rendered in the cause of the Allies, in the SWPA (but not an officer). He was a rear gunner in 406115 Dick Overheu's (DFC*), 24 Sqn RAAF B-24. He also flew with the 529th BS/380th BG. Both ended up instructing at 7 OTU, RAAF Tocumwal (Liberators).

Col
