Michel, check your inbox. Concerning your surprise at the discrepancy between the claims made by GC Normandie and German losses, I think it would be best to think of the Eastern front as similar to the Pacific as far as the accuracy of claims for aerial victories is concerned. Michael Claringbould, to name one prominent writer, has demonstrated that both Japanese and Allied claims over New Guinea were often wildly exaggerated. Air fighting on the Eastern front often exhibited a similar pattern. Air combats in the Arctic have been studied quite thoroughly, for example, and many instances of inflation of enemy losses are now known.
