Georg-Peter Eder Jet ace confirmation?

Hi Karl

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a clear answer to this incident. I have seen an argument put forth that this occurred on 17 February 1945 (or possibly on 16 February 1945) and that he was shot down by return fire from the USAAF four-engined bombers and forced to bale out of his aircraft during which he struck the fuselage or tail and suffered a broken left leg and head injuries. However, the QM6 reports for that day only mention as a possible candidate Me 262 A-1 (W.Nr. 501 199) of III./JG 7 which crashed at Brandenburg-Briest due to engine trouble and was damaged 65%. It appears this episode is one of those minor mysteries of the war.

Horrido!
