Thank you, Kjetil,

for the description of the He 115s surface paints. Somehow your description of the two dark grey tones found on top of WNr 2398 reminds me of the tail of one of the Jonsvatn Ju 88s I had the luck to examine at the Berlin Technikmuseum. To my surprise the surface of this Ju 88 showed two dark grey colours with no reminiscence to any green tone.

May it be possible that salt water or simple storage in water is able to degrade the yellow pigments of those camo paints insofar only the black and grey pigments are left over? My profession lets me know several pigments are sensitive to light and/or rain exposure - especialy the cheaper ones.
