I could be wrong but I believe that the squadron was about to or was in the process of gaining Mk.IX's. So that may have contributed to the use of them on the two flights on the one day.
Quick turn around I would think, check/repair any visible damage, refuel and re-arm in one hour 25 mins, ?
Just came across this in the ORB.
Combat report for 20th March, next is Combat report for 25th.
Further on in the documents is a list of pilots with flying hours/ops.
P/O Simmons R.G.Missing 24th March.
Have just seen in AHMAW VOL 2 pages 549-550, 24th March '43, that he and another pilot went down to strafe the airfield and that he was hit, WiA and then became PoW. ?
